Two publications from World War II, age-appropriate condition. 1) ”Luftwaffen-Fibel des deutschen Jungen” (Luftwaffe Primer for the German Boy), 1942, edited by Hermann Adler and Richard Schulz, brochure with a light blue cover, contains full-page plates with uniform depictions, rank insignia, and aircraft types of the Luftwaffe, 80 pages, J.F. Lehmanns Verlag Munich-Berlin. 2) ”Kreta – Sieg der Kühnsten. Vom Heldenkampf der Fallschirmjäger” (Crete - Victory of the Boldest. From the Heroic Struggle of the Paratroopers), 1942, hardcover book with an illustrated dust jacket showing a dive-bombing motif, contains war photographs of the paratrooper operations on Crete, Steirische Verlagsanstalt Graz, spine slightly damaged, one page missing, individual leaves slightly soiled. Both publications are historical contemporary documents from World War II. The ”Luftwaffen-Fibel des deutschen Jungen” served as training material for youth education. The ”Kreta” work was published under the editorship of General der Flieger Kurt Student. It contains approx. 200 large-format photo plates and documents Operation Mercury (May 20, 1941) – the first and only strategic airborne operation of the Wehrmacht, during which paratroopers and mountain troops conquered the island of Crete.
