Group of five orders and decorations: 1) Eastern Front Medal 1941/42 (Ostmedaille), zinc, on red ribbon with black-white-red middle stripes, obverse showing steel helmet, stick grenade and laurel wreath. 2) War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords 1939, on black-white-red ribbon. 3) Faithful Service Cross for 25 years, silver, on cornflower blue ribbon, reverse inscribed ”Für treue Dienste”. 4) Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939, iron core with silver frame. 5) Honour Cross of the World War 1914–1918 for front-line combatants, with swords, reverse stamped ”32 R.V. PFORZHEIM”. Age-appropriate condition. The combination of the five decorations indicates a recipient who served in both the First and Second World Wars. The Honour Cross of the World War 1914–1918 was instituted on 13 July 1934 by President Hindenburg and awarded retrospectively to participants in the First World War. The Eastern Front Medal was instituted on 26 May 1942 for service on the Eastern Front during the winter of 1941/42, colloquially known as the ”Frozen Meat Order”.
