Item Overview
Description:
Cheryl Kabala Framed Rice Paper Sculptural Art
Cheryl uses the sculptural technique of assemblage to compose a unified whole group of unrelated and often fragmentary objects. Handmade rice paper is painted then manipulated into desired shapes. Gemstones, copper tubing. reed, fabric, yarn, and other materials are tied, wrapped, or woven onto and through the paper. Each piece is hand-worked...there is no mass production and no gluing involved. Only acid-free mat and mounting boards are used to maintain archival integrity. The framed art is approx 11" x 3/4" x 11" and it weighs 1lbs. The actual sculptural art is approx 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". The framed art is in a good, used condition with some wear on the frame with markings and scratches. This is signed on the bottom right.
