Canvas, oil 38 x 45. - Veniamin Alekseevich Goncharenko (1929-2013) – Russian painter, member of the Union of Artists, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, professor, rector of the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute of Arts, dean of the art department of the Far Eastern Academy of Sciences. Born in the city of Kadiyevka, Luhansk region. Graduated from the Odessa Art School, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin of the USSR Academy of Arts (1959) and the All-Russian Academy of Arts named after B. V. Ioganson (1962). In 1962 he moved to Vladivostok, where he took part in the creation of the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts as the first rector of the then Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute of Arts, dean of the art department, head of the department (from 1973 to 1993). Since 1962 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1987 he became the first chairman of the Primorsky branch of the Culture Fund. Since 1959 he has been a participant in regional, republican, All-Union and foreign exhibitions. Veniamin Alekseevich has had 7 personal exhibitions. His works are in the collections of the Primorsky State Art Gallery in Vladivostok, the Far Eastern Art Museum in Khabarovsk, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Arka Gallery in Vladivostok, in state, private and corporate collections in Russia and abroad.
