“Vladivostok” Album. Collection of 48 originals postcards dating from 1900 to 1924, presented in an anqtique album (24 pages). Russian Empire, early 20th century. - A collectible assemblage of panoramic postcards depicting Vladivostok, housed in a period postcard album. The French inscription “Cartes Postales” on the cover is characteristic of the international postcard fashion of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Albums of this type were produced as universal storage items for commemorative and collectible cards. The album contains black-and-white topographical postcards of Vladivostok featuring city panoramas, railway and administrative buildings, streets, and public spaces. Bilingual captions emphasize Vladivostok’s status as an international port city and an important eastern outpost of the Russian Empire. The cover is executed in the decorative manner typical of the early 20th century: cloth binding, embossed decoration, floral ornamentation, a stylized female profile within a medallion, and floral motifs. The design corresponds to the aesthetics of Art Nouveau / late Jugendstil. The album is preserved in authentic antique condition, showing evident signs of age and use: surface wear, tears to the spine, losses along the edges, and weakening of the binding. At the same time, the overall preservation of the collection and the presence of the original slit mounts for holding the postcards enhance its historical and collectible value. On the flyleaves there are stamps dated July 2, 2010. to the 150th anniversary of Vladivostok.
