He has been a member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 2011. Lapo graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute with a specialization in Artistic Ceramics. Alongside his creative practice, he teaches Fundamentals of Artistic Processing Technologies at the Far Eastern State University and is the director of the International Summer School of Artistic Ceramics. Since 1995, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad, establishing a reputation for innovative work that bridges traditional ceramic techniques, contemporary decorative art, and philosophical imagery. His works are represented in the collections of the Primorye State Art Gallery and in private collections in Russia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and the United States. The cycle The Path to the Shaman reflects the artist’s interest in archetypal imagery, spiritual traditions, and the symbolic dimensions of human experience. Drawing upon themes associated with ritual, contemplation, and the relationship between humanity and nature, Lapo creates works that resonate with both personal and universal meanings. In Waiting, the artist combines overglaze painting with treated wood surfaces, employing texture, colour, and material contrast to create a meditative visual space. The work reflects his distinctive approach to decorative art, where craftsmanship, symbolism, and contemporary artistic expression are brought together in a unified composition.
