A member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 2011, he is recognized for his innovative approach to contemporary ceramic art and his ability to combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistic concepts. Lapo graduated from the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute with a specialization in Artistic Ceramics. In addition to his artistic practice, he teaches Fundamentals of Artistic Processing Technologies at the Far Eastern State University and serves as director of the International Summer School of Artistic Ceramics. Since 1995, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad. His work reflects a deep engagement with ceramic traditions while exploring themes of spirituality, nature, cultural symbolism, and the contemplative dimensions of human experience. Works by the artist are represented in the collection of the Primorye State Art Gallery and in private collections in Russia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and the United States. Night Silence forms part of Lapo’s ongoing exploration of the poetic and meditative possibilities of ceramic art. Executed with overglaze painting and gold decoration, the diptych combines refined craftsmanship with a restrained visual language. The circular format and luminous gold accents evoke a sense of stillness and contemplation, while the title suggests the quiet introspection and heightened awareness associated with the nocturnal world. Through the interplay of form, surface, and symbolism, the work invites the viewer into a space of reflection and silence.
