He is a distinguished Russian painter, graphic artist, and illustrator, awarded the title of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and an Honorary Citizen of Vladivostok. Cherkasov graduated from the Vladivostok Art College and later from the Far Eastern Pedagogical Institute of Arts, where he received a comprehensive artistic education that laid the foundation for his multifaceted career. Working across painting, graphic art, and book illustration, he has established himself as one of the notable representatives of contemporary art in the Russian Far East. His works are distinguished by their technical mastery, expressive imagery, and sensitive interpretation of nature and human experience.
