Figure on a yellow background, 100x65 cm, hardboard, mixed media, signed by the author on both sides. - https://raskolnikovgallery.com Lukka Valeriy Nikolaevich (b. 1945) is an artist, a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, a member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Modern Art, a member of the Italian National Association of Artists ”ITALART”, a member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art ”SPASI”. In 1977 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repina. Since 1978 he has participated in more than two hundred exhibitions in Russia and abroad. In the late 1970s Academy of Arts graduates Vyacheslav Mikhailov and Valery Lukka, together with Felix Volosenkov, declared themselves as a creative group striving to find new means of expression. To create the necessary artistic effect, they began to use relief colorful layers. The researchers of V. Lukka's creativity own a somewhat paradoxical characteristic of his manner - they called his peculiar, individual style ”conceptual expressionism”. His painting is indeed distinguished by sincerity often, not devoid of irony and full of quotations from classical art. The artist's works are in museum and private collections in Russia and abroad.
