; Yakovlev Andrei Alekseevich (1934-2012) - Soviet and Russian painter. Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I.E. Repin, People's Artist of Russia, full member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists since 1962. One of the prominent representatives of the "severe style" in Soviet art. The series of works devoted to the North and the construction of BAM brought wide fame to the artist.
In 1960 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin in the workshop of Professor E. E. Moiseenko. His fellow students were Igor Suvorov, Leonid Vaishlya, Nikita Charushin, B. Khomenko. Participated in exhibitions since 1961.
Works by Yakovlev A.A. are on permanent display at the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, museums and private collections in Russia, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, Norway, France and other countries.
