Учился во Вхутемасе (1922-1924). Ученик П.А. Шиллинговского. Занимался также в студиях А.Д. Силина и М.В. Добужинского. Окончил Высшие курсы искусствоведения (1929).Artist-consultant at the Gorky Automobile Plant (1934-1940).
