Richard Miller (1934-2018) untitled, covered duck bowl, signed on bottom, good condition stonewareRichard Lee Miller (1934-2018) was an award winning ceramicist and a folk artist. He was born April 12, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia and adopted by Ruth and Carl Miller of Cleveland and later Mansfield, Ohio. Richard received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and was awarded a Master of Fine Arts by Wichita State University, Wichita KS. He served in the US Army in the Quartermaster Corp during the Cold War..Richard was a behind the scenes booster of Lindsborg, Kansas bringing the persona and folk art of ‘Little Sweden' (aka Lindsborg) to Scandinavian Arts and Crafts venues from coast to coast.
