A Cased Set of Twenty-Five Fish Cutlery Pieces, retailed by James Gower, Aberdeen, with C G & S M Hallmarks - A cased cutlery set presented in a rectangular wooden box with a visible oak grain, brass escutcheon, and an oval brass plaque on the lid. The interior is lined with cream satin on the lid, which bears the inscription ”GOLD & SILVERSMITH. James Gower. ESTAB 1881 LITTLE BELMONT ST. ABERDEEN.” A black velvet-lined fitted tray holds twenty-four individual pieces, comprising twelve fish knives and twelve fish forks. A single larger serving knife with a similarly styled handle and blade is secured in the lid. All pieces feature metal blades/tines and cream-colored handles. Many of the metal components exhibit individual hallmarks, notably including the letters ”C G & S M, ” alongside other smaller, less discernible stamps.
