A black marble case features a distinctive wavy or stepped top and a rectangular base that includes a prominent layer of reddish-brown veined marble. The central circular dial features gold-colored Roman numerals on a black face, with an open escapement revealing brass movement components. The reverse of the clock has a hinged, decorative brass grate that opens to reveal the internal clock mechanism, including a coiled gong spring. Pendulum in place.
