An antique African tribal ceremonial staff or walking stick, constructed from a central wooden core. The shaft is adorned with sections of dark, aged leather, some exhibiting longitudinal stitching. Further embellishment includes multiple bands of tightly woven natural and dark fibers arranged in geometric patterns, accented by decorative fringed ”skirts” of similar woven material and leather strips. A braided leather loop is attached near the top, and the base features a metal ferrule.
