A Japanese Imari porcelain vase and cover, polychrome enamel-decorated, comprising a footed base, an ovoid body, and a domed lid topped with a spherical finial. The vibrant decoration, in a palette predominantly featuring red, gold, dark blue, green, and white, is consistent with the Imari style. The main body features segmented panels depicting two Japanese women in traditional attire seated outdoors amidst flowering plants and landscape elements, interspersed with reserves of intricate floral and geometric motifs. The lid and footed base display complementary patterns of flowers, honeycomb designs, and other decorative elements. The unglazed footrim bears a red '大日本九谷製' (Dai Nippon Kutani sei - Great Japan Kutani ware) seal mark, alongside a small red 'A' mark. Height: 29 cms.
