Bidspirit auction | This lot comprises two early

This lot comprises two early to mid-20th century wooden mantel clocks, each with a brass mechanical movement. The clock on the left features a dark-stained wood case with a geometric, stepped Art Deco design and a curved top, standing on square feet. Its cream dial displays Arabic numerals, marked ”Andrew” at 12 o'clock and ”MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN” at 6 o'clock. A dedication plaque below reads ”SILVER WEDDING 1928 - 1953 FROM THE STAFF”. The visible brass movement is marked ”MADE IN ENGLAND” with a ”GB” logo and ”PAT. NO. 450417”, and includes intact chime rods. The clock on the right is crafted from medium-toned wood, featuring a curvilinear Art Deco or Arts & Crafts-inspired form with decorative inlay on its broad, flat base. Its aged, brass-colored dial also presents Arabic numerals. The brass movement is marked ”BADUF”, ”GERMANY”, ”Patent N° 379032”, and ”Musterschutz N° 7488” (German for 'Design patent'), along with the number ”24977”, and includes chime rods.
