Bidspirit auction | A pair of Japanese Kutani

A pair of Japanese Kutani porcelain bowls, likely Meiji period. The larger bowl features a white glazed interior and a richly decorated exterior with polychrome enamels and extensive gilding, depicting panoramic landscape scenes with rivers, mountains, trees (including bamboo), and several elaborately dressed female figures. A wide gilt band with a repeating scroll pattern adorns the rim. The smaller bowl is externally decorated with blue underglaze patterns and stylized characters, while its interior features vibrant enamel work of leaves and berries with gilt accents, all framed by a thin gold rim. Both bowls bear a red, stylized seal mark on their respective bases, which appears to be `寿` (Kotobuki), meaning longevity or felicity. Larger bowl diameter: 13 cms Smaller bowl diameter: 5 cms
