A matching pair of miniature baluster-form porcelain vases, decorated in Chinese export style with extensive polychrome enamel and gilding. Each vase features alternating reserves: one depicting a graceful female figure, identified as Magu, holding an offering, flanked by vertical Chinese calligraphy translating to ”Magu offers longevity” (麻姑献寿); the other reserve shows stylized birds amidst flora. These panels are set against a densely patterned gilded ground, richly ornamented with colorful floral motifs including peonies and chrysanthemums. The neck of each vase is decorated with a yellow and red stylized Ruyi or cloud collar band.
