A pair of vintage Schmid Bros. bisque porcelain clown dolls, originating from Japan. Each doll features a painted porcelain head and a soft, cloth-stuffed body. The left doll presents with a brown synthetic fiber wig, a red conical hat with a pompom, and a red and white gingham fabric jumpsuit with white mittens. It is completed by black painted shoes, possibly wooden or resin. The right doll wears a black bowler-style hat, has painted blonde hair beneath the hat, and a smiling painted face with a prominent black 'T' marking on its forehead. Its costume consists of a red and white striped fabric jumpsuit with a ruffled black and white polka dot collar and red pompoms, decorated with a novelty print featuring various illustrations and fragmented text, including ”A KIN, ” ”MUS, ” ”oishis” (Japanese for 'delicious'), and ”KARA NE.”
