A collection of multiple vintage and potentially mid-20th century playing card sets and decks. This group comprises two double-deck sets and a group of single decks. One double-deck set features Art Deco-style silhouettes of two women and swans on a pink and gold background, contained in a hinged box. The second double-deck set holds solid red and blue ”PLASTICS” decks, explicitly marked ”Frido FOR VINYL BALLS AND DOLLS” and ”V&E PLASTICS FOR INJECTION AND COMPRESSION MOULDING,” indicating their material and manufacturing context, housed in a hinged box. The single decks include one ”Waddington's Number 1 PLAYING CARDS” deck, noted as ”MADE BY JOHN WADDINGTON LTD. LEEDS LONDON ENGLAND,” in a tuck box. Also present are three ”CALYPSO COPYRIGHT PLAYING CARDS” decks, identified through web intelligence as Arrco Duratone, in tuck boxes. One of the Calypso decks includes a partially visible blue and white revenue stamp declaring ”DUTY” and a penalty of ”£20 STERLING” for its omission, indicating a UK origin and likely pre-1971 manufacture. A separate textured blue and red case, possibly for another card set, is also included.
