A pair of mid-20th century marquetry wall plaques, attributed to Sorrento, Italy, circa 1960s. Each rectangular plaque features a single full-length stylised clown figure constructed from various wood veneers. One figure is depicted playing a drum, while the other holds percussion instruments. The figures are set against a dark, vertically grained background with a lighter, figured wood foreground. The surfaces are finished with a high-gloss lacquer. Slight crack on one. A/F.
