This collection comprises pieces from two separate English manufacturers, featuring a Wedgwood tea and dinner service and serving items by Bishop and Stonier. The first group is a Wedgwood bone china service in the Adelphi pattern. Each piece is constructed from white glazed bone china and decorated with a broad acid-etched style gold band featuring a repeating anthemion and palmette motif, further finished with gilt rims. The bases bear a black printed Wedgwood factory mark depicting a classical urn, with the text Wedgwood Bone China Made in England Adelphi. The service includes footed teacups, saucers, side plates, dessert plates, and dinner plates. The second group consists of serving pieces by Bishop and Stonier (Bisto), Hanley. These items are of Art Deco form with angular handles and conical finials. The decoration consists of a gold band flanked by thin black lines, with fully gilt handles and finials. The base of the cream jug displays a green printed Bisto factory mark featuring a caduceus symbol and the text Bisto England, along with a hand-painted pattern number 3762. This group includes two covered tureens, a large oval serving platter, and a milk jug.
