This lot comprises two items of British Royal commemorative ceramic ware. The first is a 1911 Coronation souvenir mug, featuring transfer-printed and hand-coloured portraits of King George V and Queen Mary date 1911. The interior rim bears the inscription Coronation Souvenir 22 June 1911. The reverse side displays a transfer-printed scroll with the text RULERS OF AN EMPIRE ON WHICH THE SUN NEVER SETS. The base is marked with a puce printed stamp for HARRODS LTD., EXCLUSIVE DESIGN, and GUARANTEED ALL BRITISH. The second item is a 1937 Coronation commemorative dish of oval form with a moulded scalloped rim, crafted from glazed earthenware.
