The piece is executed in the sommerso technique, featuring a deep cranberry-red core that transitions into a golden amber colour towards the base, all encased within a thick layer of clear glass. The technique and form are characteristic of 20th-century Italian art glass from Murano, with similar examples attributed to makers such as Alfredo Barbini or Cristallo Venezia CCC.
