Bidspirit auction | This assortment of five framed

This assortment of five framed pictures comprises an original watercolour on paper, two colour prints, and two photographic prints. The original watercolour depicts a stone parish church within a graveyard, signed R.D. Wylie and dated 1993 to the lower left. The first print is a limited edition colour print after an original by Alan Cross, numbered 6/301, depicting All Hallows Church, Bispham as it appeared in the 1960s. This work is signed by the artist in pen on the mount and also features a signature and inscription to the verso reading With Best Wishes - Alan Cross. A second colour print is after Sir John Lavery, R.A., titled Evening at Tangier, which includes a comprehensive biographical label on the reverse regarding the artist and the original work held in the Art Gallery, Birmingham. Completing the group is a pair of sepia-toned photographic prints showing scenes of hop-picking in rural hop gardens, with one example inscribed Hop Gardens FF&Co to the lower right. The works are presented in various frames, including dark wood with relief decoration and gilt-effect mouldings. Labels to the reverse include a framing sticker for Pot-hooks & Hangers of Gravesend and an artist information label for Alan Cross of Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire.
