Bidspirit auction | A Thuringian glazed porcelain bust

A Thuringian glazed porcelain bust of a maiden, attributed to the Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory. The figure is depicted in a contemplative pose with a downcast gaze and her hands clutching drapery to her chest. The bust is finished in a pale cream-coloured glaze featuring a heavy, overall crackleware effect. The underside of the base bears a mark in underglaze blue consisting of a crown above a stylised script S monogram.
