Bidspirit auction | An earthenware jug attributed to
An earthenware jug attributed to Govancroft Pottery, Glasgow, featuring a distinctive rope-moulded design. The ovoid body is decorated in high relief with a continuous motif of coiled rope, which extends across the flared neck, pinched pouring spout, and circular foot. The handle is similarly modelled as a thick, knotted rope with two points of attachment. The piece is finished in a mottled brown manganese glaze, characteristic of Rockingham-type wares.
