Bidspirit auction | A Japanese porcelain cylindrical vase

A Japanese porcelain cylindrical vase decorated in the Imari style, produced in Arita for the export market. The tall, cylindrical form with a flat base and slightly flaring rim is finished with dense floral scrolls of chrysanthemums and peonies in underglaze blue, iron-red, and green enamels with gilded highlights. The underside of the base bears a gold-printed mark comprising the words GOLD IMARI. This marking indicates production in the mid-20th century, likely between the 1950s and 1970s. Height: 30.5 cm.
