An assortment of antique brass and copper wares featuring a US Peace and Friendship pattern powder flask, of the type issued for the Model 1841 Mississippi rifle and distributed as treaty gifts. The flask is constructed of two embossed brass halves with a side seam and features suspension rings and a telescopic brass measuring charger. The embossed decoration displays a handshake motif within a radiant sunburst and a ring of stars, surmounted by an eagle and shield, with a panoply of arms at the base centred on a shield marked US. The collection includes various cast brass horse brasses with motifs such as a triple-crescent moon and pierced geometric designs. Also present are circular brass mounts with concentric ring centres and scalloped edges. Household items comprise a cast brass trivet in the form of a flat iron with pierced scrollwork and a copper pan with a pouring lip and shaped brass handle. Flask length: Approximately 25 cm.
