The composition depicts an overflowing basket with a twisted handle, filled with a variety of botanical elements. The basket features a finely incised woven texture and rests upon a low, flared rectangular foot. The carving employs extensive openwork techniques throughout the floral display. The front of the basket is decorated with an incised diamond-shaped cartouche containing stylized Chinese characters, intended as auspicious symbols, likely including the character Fu for good fortune.
