Bidspirit auction | A mid-20th century clear glass
A mid-20th century clear glass claret jug of hexagonal star-shaped form at the base, tapering upwards to a slender circular neck. The jug is fitted with unmarked white metal mounts, likely silver-plated, comprising a plain collar with a long, tapering spout and a hinged domed lid with a small thumbpiece. A slender, scrolled C-shaped handle is attached to the collar and body, finished with ball terminals. The design is highly consistent with pieces produced by Royal Crystal Rock, Italy, although no maker's marks or hallmarks are visible on the metalwork.
