A George V sterling silver expanding concertina toast rack. The piece is designed in the Gothic Revival style, featuring seven bars shaped as lancet arches. It is constructed upon an adjustable diamond-lattice base that allows for length expansion and contraction. The rack is surmounted by a central loop handle of corresponding Gothic form and is raised on four small ball feet. The marks are worn but after enhancing the marks then there is the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter u for 1919. Weight: 230 grams
