A Large Scheurich 'Fat Lava' Floor Vase (Model 239-41). A large 1960s/1970s Mid-Century Modern West German art pottery floor vase, manufactured by Scheurich Keramik. Of tall baluster form, the cylindrical body features a tapered neck terminating in a flared rim. The exterior is decorated in the 'Lava' series glaze scheme, featuring a rich ochre-brown base layer beneath a heavily mottled, cascading white and cream foam-textured reactive glaze concentrated around the shoulders. The interior is finished in a uniform dark brown protective glaze.
