This lot comprises two English pewter presentation tankards associated with Jack Bond, the former captain of Lancashire County Cricket Club. One tankard, manufactured by Pinder Bros of Sheffield, features a straight-sided body with a flared base and a rectangular D-shaped handle. It is engraved on the front: PRESENTED TO JACK BOND ESQ. Captain Lancashire C.C. BY THE MEMBERS OF LITTLE HULTON C.C. ON THE OPENING BY HIM OF THEIR NEW PAVILION APRIL 20TH 1968. The base is stamped with a logo and the text: Pinder Bros ENGLISH PEWTER SHEFFIELD H 37. The second tankard is of tapered design with an ornate S-scroll handle and a multi-ringed base. It is inscribed: Presented by the BURNDEN SPORTING CLUB to JACK BOND Captain of LANCASHIRE C.C. for his inspiring Captaincy during the 1970 Season. The base is stamped: FINE ENGLISH PEWTER CRAFTSMEN MADE IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. Both pieces commemorate Jack Bond the Captain of the Lancashire Cricket Team.
