This sterling silver presentation tankard, manufactured by Wakely & Wheeler, features a baluster-shaped body with an ornate leaf-capped scroll handle and a tiered circular foot. The front of the vessel is engraved with the inscription: THE VAUX TANKARD / Presented to / JACK BOND / Vaux North Sportsman of / 1971. The base is struck with the hallmarks of London, 1971, including the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard head assay mark, and the date letter q. It also bears the maker mark for Wakely & Wheeler, consisting of the characters W&W within a trefoil-shaped punch.
