A lot comprising two early 20th-century British lithographed tinplate advertising containers. The first item is a large oval confectionery tin produced for George W. Horner and Co. Ltd. to hold Mermaid Chocolate Sandwich Caramels. The second item is a small rectangular hinged promotional tin for C.W.S. (Co-operative Wholesale Society) Biscuits. The lid is decorated with a lithographed floral spray and a pink butterfly, while the base is embossed with the words C.W.S BISCUITS FREE SAMPLE. The interior of the smaller tin is lined with a foil material.
