An oil painting on board depicting a traditional rural scene with figures and horses on a country lane. The painting is housed in an exceptionally deep and ornate gilt-finished frame decorated with high-relief scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf motifs. The reverse of the board is covered with green backing paper and bears a modern gold foil inventory label printed with DHR BT34 LKK, CODE Z 216, and SIZE 8 x 10. A small circular white sticker with the number 8 is also present on the verso.
