Bidspirit auction | A matched pair of Chinese
A matched pair of Chinese porcelain guardian lions, commonly referred to as Foo Dogs, rendered in the Dehua (Blanc de Chine) tradition. This pair follows traditional iconography, featuring one male and one female figure. They are seated upon tall rectangular pedestals which feature relief-moulded panels on all sides depicting motifs such as deer and floral elements within a landscape. The figures are finished in a bright white glaze characteristic of mid to late 20th-century Dehua style production.
