George V sterling silver baby rattle and teether, manufactured by W.H. Collins & Co. The central sterling silver body features a repousse nursery rhyme scene on both sides depicting a piper playing a flute to a dog within a pastoral landscape. The piece is fitted with a carved mother-of-pearl handle and a large off-white teething ring. The silver collar is stamped with a full set of English hallmarks: maker mark W.H.C (W.H. Collins & Co), lion passant indicating sterling silver, anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and lowercase date letter v for 1920. Two silver bells remain suspended from the central body.
