A commemorative silk menu produced for the Guildhall Luncheon hosted by the Corporation of London to mark the Fortieth Anniversary of the Accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The event took place on Tuesday, 24th November 1992, an occasion of significant historical note as the date of the Queen's famous annus horribilis speech. The menu is printed on white silk with a white braided lace border and features elaborate illuminated-style graphics, including colourful scrollwork. The document is headed by the Royal Coat of Arms and centred at the base with the City of London Coat of Arms bearing the motto Domine Dirige Nos. The menu is housed in its original blue presentation box, which features gilt-stamped text and heraldry on the lid.
