This watercolour on paper depicts a coastal landscape of the Isle of Man, looking towards King William's College from the road to Langness. Painted for the famous Lancashire Cricket Captain Jack Bonds. It is signed JOHN H. NICHOLSON in the lower right corner. The reverse of the frame features a handwritten paper strip titled View from road to Langness and signed John H. Nicholson. R.I., P.S. A presentation label is also affixed to the verso, reading Dec. 1979 - Presented to J.D. BOND by the Common Room of King William's College. The painting is set within a dark green card mount with a gold-toned inner slip and is housed in a dark wood frame with gilt detailing.
