Archive of Autographs by the Greatest Rabbis of Italy in the 18th / 19th Centuries – Letters and Halachic Responsa Handwritten and Signed by Them - Before us is a huge archive which contains 30 items of handwritten halachic responsa, letters and missives, historical documents and leaves of poetry by the greatest rabbis of Italy in the 18th and 19th centuries. The items were handwritten and signed by them. Among them, important halachic correspondence. The responsa, letters and leaves of poetry were written with poetic, rhymed introductions – a style known among the Sephardic sages in general and the sages of Italy in particular. The material before us has not yet been printed or published! Following is a description of the items: 1. Compilation of responsa on the laws of Tevilah, by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah Av Beit Din of Torino. [1] pages handwritten by him. (Written after letters that were sent to him). Good condition. 2. Compilation by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah. Long halachic responsum on the laws of purity, [5] large, full pages. Presumably handwritten by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah's scribe. Fair condition. 3. Halachic responsum about saving life on Sabbath, by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah. 1763. Hanwritten by his disciple Rabbi Yitzchak Yonah Girom. [1.5] pages. 4. Responsum handwritten and signed by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah (Torinot, 31st to the Omer, 1796). On a question letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Eliyahu Aharon Latish, Saolino, the 24 to the Omer, 1796. [1] page. Excellent condition. 5. Responsum handwritten by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah about the kashrut of milk that has been kept away from the touch of gentiles. The responsum includes a halachic discussion. Signe din Italian. Handwritten with a copying of the signatures of the Dayanim of Torino, Rabbi Ya'akov Sagari, Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah and rabbi Eliezer bat Sheva. 1765. 2 pages. Excellent condition. 8. Long responsum by Rabbi Eliyahu Halevi, Av Beit Din of Alessandria about receiving charity from gentiles. On a question from Rabbi Ephraim Yosef the son of David Rimini. 1780. Handwritten entirely by his grandson Rabbi Yechiel Trivish. [5] pp. 9. Responsa letter by Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Trivish Av Beit Din of Vercelli, to Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah (signed by his servant, disciple and brother-in-law), about marrying on the days it was not customary to marry. The 22nd of Adar B 1802. On the reverse side of leaf [2] a responsum on the above matter handwritten by Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah. On the last page, an Italian letter. [4] pp. 10. Halachic responsum letter on the issue of he who has fifty Zuz (Peah, 89 48). Handwritten by Rabbi Yechiel Trivish to his brother-in-law Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah. With the responses of Rabbi Eliyahu Halevi of Alessandria. The eve of Shabbat Chukat 1778. [3] pp. Excellent condition. 11. Responsa letter on the matter of partnership. Handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Trivish. 1872, Two additional pages of an Italian letter. On the fourth page, the Italian name of the addressee. Good-fair condition. 12. Italian letter and a question handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Trivish, about a mourner whom the 29th day of his mourning occurs on the eve of Rosh Hashana, whether he can shave and wear new white clothes on Rosh Hashana. With a response handwritten by his brother-in-law Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yonah on [2] pp. [3] pp. altogether. Good condition. 13. Letter of recommendation handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham of Sinigalia. Fossano, 1757. The letter was given to Rabbi Ya'akov Norzi who was forced to raise donation due to his difficult situation. Good condition. 14. A deed of a yard for the philanthropist Shimshon Morpurgo. Ancona, 1771. With signatures of the witnesses Rabbi ”Avraham of Sinigalia”, Rabbi ”Shlomo Moshe Sipili”. The deed is written on four full pages and details the terms of the buyer – one of the longer and more detailed deeds – special! Good-fair condition. 15. Long Shtar Tena'im (engagement contract), of the bridegroom Avraham Chaim the son of Shimon Ashkenazi and the bride Luna the daughter of Yosef Chaim of Firmi. Rosh Chodesh Elul, 1756. Apparently handwritten by rabbi Avraham of Sinigalia. The signatures of the witnesses: ”Rabbi Shlomo ben rabbi Moshe Shabtai Tesoro” (one of the sages of Ancona in the late 18th century) and Rabbi ”Yitzchak Moshe Ben rabbi Yosef Yechiel Firmi”. At the beginning of the document: ”Ma'alat Hachacham Shmuel Shmaya ben Hachacham Hashalem Avraham David Pappoe (authorized by the bride)”. On the reverse side of the leaf,
