Throughout the book, several scholarly glosses handwritten by him. Rabbi Yosef Chaver (died in 1873) one of the leading rabbis of Poland, a genius in all aspects of the Torah and an impressive sermonizer. His father, the Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Chaver Av Beit Din of Sovalk and disciple of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Shklov and third generation from the Vilna Gaon. Served as the rabbi of Yedvabna and several other places. Authored several books, among them ”Sha'ar Yosef”, ”Kiflayim L'Tushiyah”, two commentaries on the Song of Songs (Warsaw, 1873). ”Zro'ah Netuyah” on the Passover Haggadah. In addition, he authored two eulogy books, ”Nefesh naki” and ”Tziyun L'Nefesh” for his father and for Rabbi Aryeh Leib Shapira Av beit Din of Kovna, and for Rabbi Meir of Brinsk and Rabbi Eliezer of Grodno and Rabbi Eliezer Yitzchak Fried.
