Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv (1877-1943) the rabbi of Homiel, Belarus, the founder and rabbi of the ”Toferet Bachurim” Beit Midrash in Jerusalem and Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv's son. Was born in Shawel to his father Rabbi Moshe Levinson, who piety was well-known. In his youth he studied at the Radin Yeshiva with the ”Chafetz Chaim”. In 1893, he married the daughter of the Kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv, author of the ”Leshem”. In 1924, he immigrated to the Land of Israel with his family and father-in-law and lived in the Meah Shearim. On the advice of the Chafetz Chaim, he changed his family name from Levinson to Elyashiv. In Jerusalem, he founded the ”Tiferet Bachurim” society for the youth of Jerusalem, where he delivered Torah lessons and sermons. His book ”Bikurei Avraham” was published in 1897. In 1925, he published an additional volume. Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv (1910-2012). Gedol Hador. One of the greatest Poskim of the 20th century. The only son of Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv who was born after seventeen years of marriage. He independently studied in various Batei Midrash in Jerusalem and acquired much knowledge in all aspects of the Torah. He was known for his tireless diligence, sleeping only three hours every night, even in his old age. He was known as a brilliant Posek Halacha. His funeral was attended by more than 250,000 people.
