Section A: Prayers for the days of the week and Sabbath, Yotzrot for Sabbath and Rosh Chodesh, Shabbat Bereshit, the Sabbath of Hanukkah, Arba Parshiyot, Purim and Shabbat Hagadol; Selichot for Monday and Thursday and Monday, Assarah BeTevet, the 17th of Tamuz and Brit Milah; Passover and Shavuot; Kinot and ”tziyunim” for Tisha beAv; Yotzrot for Shabbat nachamu, Shabbat Nissuin and Brit Milah. At the end of this section, a poem praying the Machzor by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Modena. 340 leaves, 29cm. Section B: Selichot and prayers for the month of Elul and the all the High Holidays until Simchat Torah. 315 leaves. 29cm. The machzor contains many commentaries and additions by various rabbis. Alongside every Piyyut, its author and his intention were written. An extremely rare Machzor with commentaries and laws. With handwritten Italian glosses. The set before us, for its age and usage, is very-well preserved. Good overall condition. In several places, moderate condition due to stains. Weer from use. Minor blemishes to several leaves. Several omissions of text due to use. Professional restorations in the margins of several of the first and last leaves. In addition, the two title pages are restored in their margins. Matching semi-leather bindings to the two sections. Signatures and glosses: by Aharon Levi. Owner's inscription of Menachem ben David Ara. Throughout the book (section A), long and short glosses in Italian script. Some of the glosses are textual completions after the censor erased parts of the text. On the title page of section B, signatures og Yeshu'ah [Giz] and Moshe Aryeh Triasti. Throughout the second section, approx. 20 important handwritten glosses, some of them referring to genealogy, dates of births and deaths.
