Antique Victorian 9 Karat Yellow Gold Shell Cameo Pendant - 9 karat yellow gold pendant featuring a bezel-set oval shell cameo, which appears to be sardonyx shell, depicting a classical female profile carved in white relief against a tan ground. The cameo is set within a heavy, textured frame with a foliate or nugget-style finish, accented by four flared, polished ribbon-like elements. The piece is suspended from a circular gold bale. The reverse of the pendant is struck with a series of British hallmarks including a crown gold standard mark, the fineness mark 375, a leopard's head for the London Assay Office, and a date letter. This pendant is designed in the antique Victorian style and is hallmarked 375, possibly dating to circa 1860. 2.3grams 2cm long 1,5 cm wide.
