Heywood Hardy, A Chance Encounter, Framed Offset Lithograph - This lot features a framed photomechanical color print, specifically an offset lithograph, after an original painting by British artist Heywood Hardy (1843-1933). The work is titled A Chance Encounter as printed on the label affixed to the matting. The composition illustrates a traditional English country scene with a man and woman on horseback stopping to converse with an elderly man and a young girl outside a thatched cottage, surrounded by several dogs.
