Chinese Carved Icy Type A Jadeite Laughing Buddha Pendant - This pendant is carved from Type A icy jadeite and depicts Budai, the Laughing Buddha, in a seated position with a jovial expression and prominent belly. The material is a semi-translucent, light celadon-green jadeite with characteristic cloudy white internal mottling. The figure is rendered in high relief with stylized, rounded contours and a smooth, polished finish. A small suspension hole is drilled through the top center of the piece. No maker marks or inscriptions are present. This item is attributed to the 20th century or later. Height: approximately 30 mm.
