Pierre Ambrogiani "Thinker" Gouache Painting
Pierre Ambrogiani (French, 1907-1985). Gouache on paper painting titled "Thinker, " depicting a seated figure with one hand cradling his head, deep in thought, ca. 1970s. In Ambrogiani's typical expressionist style. Signed along the lower right.
Provenance: Galerie Philia, Paris, 2016; Private Minnesota Collection.
Sight; height: 24 1/2 in x width: 16 in. Framed; height: 29 1/4 in x width: 20 3/4 in.
Condition: The painting is in great condition with no visible tears, losses, or major creases. The color is bold and bright. There are minute creases to the upper right quadrant. To the upper right corner, there is two very short hairs adhered to the paint. There is a minute loss to paint to the right of the right shoulder, which does not affect the overall work. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration. Wear to the frame. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
